Selawik is located approximately 3 miles north
of the Arctic Circle in Alaska. Located in the heart of the
Selawik National Wildlife Refuge makes it a very beautiful area
for hunting, trapping, fishing, and seeing a large number of
wildlife animals. The weather also makes it a great place to
go boating in the summer and riding snowmachines in the winter.
The Inupiaq people of this rural village are part of a very
strong and proud culture which teaches and utilizes a subsistence
lifestyle. The Elders are actively involved in passing down
their knowledge and wisdom to our younger people, to ensure
a long and enriching existence of the Inupiaq culture. View
