| Selawik is built on three separate islands. This bridge
connects the school side (where most of the community lives) to
the post office side (four small stores, armory and several local
homes). It is known as the Rainbow Bridge and built high so that
during spring thaw the ice would not built up and create a dam,
flooding the community. |
