Edgecumbe, over 3,000 feet in elevation, is an extinct volcano looming over Sitka Sound. On a clear day everyone in Sitka gets to see this wonderful snow covered volcano. A commercial fishing boat in Southeast Alaska passes near a United States Coast Guard helicopter while it lowers its basket to pull a swimming out of the frigid water of Alaska.
 Two USCG swimmers are pulled from the water of Alaska during a practice rescue. The USCG required a monthly amount a flight time, water time, and winch time for the crews of the USCG HH-60J rescue helicopter. If these times are not met during a rescue then the crew must spend time practicing so that they are always ready to offer support to the many commercial fishing, personal use and working boats of Alaska.
