| The trees were covered with hoar (pronounced horror)
frost, an extremely thick frost that looks like it was dripping
off the branches. The temperatures was about -20°C. There are
two types of freezing frost that look similar, rime frost forms
quickly but hoar frost grows slowly and coats the trees and other
things in long fur-like ice crystals. Learn
