Alaska Aerial Photography "capturing alaska from above"
Alaska Aerial Photography "capturing alaska from above"
33,904 miles of shoreline, 586,412 square miles and one-fifth the size of the lower 48 states Alaska is the largest state in the union. Home to the most glacier in the United State, the tallest mountain in North America and one-third of the National Parks in the US, Alaska is truly a land of great wonder, mystery and adventure.

Flying is the most common way to travel in Alaska and the only way to reach many communities. Doctors fly in monthly to offer health care, parcel post goes air mail and runways are better maintained than road, Alaska is a land better reached by planes.

Many people get they first view of Alaska from above and KnowAlaska.com has put together a collection of aerial photos of Alaska from all over the state. View Aerial Alaska Photo Collection >>
Frigid southeast Alaska peak in stormy weather. The cloud cover causes the mountains to blend in with the glaciers. This is one of my favorite images. Aerial view of an Alaska mountain range. A glacier flows a smoothly as a river as the rest of the snow caps mountains tower overhead. Aerial photography of Kotzebue, Alaska. Kotzebue is the main hub for the Northwest Arctic Region and home to the Northwest Arctic Borough School District.
Aerial view of Japonski Island in Sitka, Alaska. Japonski is home to the United State Coast Gaurd Sitka Airstation, SEARHC Regional Hospital, Sitka Airport, Mt Edgecumbe Region High School, University of Alaska Sitka and Sealing Cove Harbor. Japonski Island was created during World War II due to the connecting of several different islands. It is now connect to Sitka by the O'Donnell Bridge.
